Effective Skincare Routine Steps

Let’s talk about the effective skincare routine, this subject maybe is very simple for some people, but it may sound so foreign to others. Some people’s daily skin care routine might be just 1 or 2 steps, and many more steps for others.  Are you not doing enough? Are you doing too much? There’s no right or wrong answer on how much or how little you should be doing for your skin, there’s nothing wrong with a basic skincare routine, especially if it’s working; the important question is “Would you want to improve your skin?”

Taking care of your skin is an important aspect of overall health and wellness. A consistent skincare routine can help to keep your skin looking healthy, vibrant, and youthful. Below is the general skin care routine we recommend to our clients at Invigorate Spa, we also give specific instructions for individual clients according to their skin needs. Skincare routine tips

Step 1: Cleanse (morning and night)

Having clean skin is an essential step to an effective skincare routine. This helps to remove dirt, oil, and makeup from the skin, allowing it to breathe and absorb other skincare products. Choose a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type, and use it morning and night. If you have oily skin or you wear makeup, you should do double cleansing at night.

Step 2: Exfoliate (1-3 times a week)

Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells, which can make the skin look dull and contribute to clogged pores. Use an exfoliating scrub or chemical exfoliant 1-3 times per week to help keep your skin smooth and radiant, and for better product absorption.

Step 3: Mask (1-3 times a week)

Face masking is the step most people would skip due to its time consuming, but face masks can boost your skincare routine is a powerful way!  Face masks deliver active ingredients deeper into the skin, choose a mask that is appropriate for your skin type and concerns,  do it at least once a week, you will see a difference on your skin.

Step 3: Tone (morning and night)

Toning helps to balance the skin's pH level and prepare it for other skincare products. Apply toner to a cotton pad and swipe it over your face or just spray it directly to your skin after cleansing and exfoliating.

Step 4: Treat (morning and night)

This step involves using targeted treatments for specific skin concerns, such as acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and dehydration. Treatment products like serums, spot treats or concentrates can go deeper into your skin and give your faster results.  Choose a treatment product that is appropriate for your skin type and concerns, and apply it according to the instructions.

Step 5: Moisturize (morning and night)

Moisturizing is an essential step in any effective skincare routine. It helps to keep the skin hydrated and nourished, preventing dryness and flakiness. It’s an essential step for oily/acne skin as well! Choose a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type, apply it in the morning before sunscreen and as the last step of your skincare routine at night.

Step 6: Protect (morning)

Protecting your skin from the sun is crucial for preventing damage and premature aging. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning, even on cloudy days, UV rays can penetrate clouds. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours if you are outdoors for an extended period of time.

These are the basic steps you can take to keep your skin looking its best, however, remember that good health matters for glowing skin. Skin is the largest organ in our body and is constantly affected by our overall health and wellbeing.  A healthy body will generally result in healthier skin, whereas poor health can lead to a variety of skin problems.
