Beauty and Skin Care Myths – Busted!

Fact or fake? Let’s bust some skin care and beauty myths with Gail, your best friend in beauty.

1. “You don’t need to put on sunscreen when it’s cloudy. You only need to wear it on the beach.”

BUSTED! This is one of the usual myths that we always hear. You should wear sunscreen every day—regardless of whether you’re going to the beach, doing your groceries on a cloudy day, or even when you’re staying inside the office. The sun is the primary cause of aging, and its damaging UV rays can penetrate those dark clouds you think serve as cover and even through glass windows

2. “Facial mask is a vital part of the skincare ritual that’s why I should use it every day.”

BUSTED! Facial masks (the kind you apply on your face, leave to dry for 15 minutes, and then wash off) are infused with a variety of ingredients (such as collagen, anti-aging chemicals, vitamin C, etc.). However, for those who have acne-prone skin, it’s not suggested to use sheet masks every day as the thick and slimy substance in sheet masks can sometimes be occlusive and can aggravate acne. Instead, dermatologists recommend using a sheet mask only once a week if you have acne-prone skin.

3. “Dermaplaning is scraping your skin so it is painful”

BUSTED! Saying that your face will be shaved sounds scary indeed BUT DERMAPLANING IS NOT PAINFUL AT ALL. Think of it as if you’re shaving any other part of your body. Yes, you can feel it but it doesn’t hurt. Learn more about Dermaplaning here

4. “Getting my brows microbladed is very expensive”

BUSTED! While microblading does cost more than some brow procedures, there is a misconception that the cost of microblading eyebrows is overly expensive. However, when weighed against the time saved to the client and the cost of other cosmetics, microblading can prove to be a great investment. You may check out our Microblading rate here

5. “Skincare products are designed to care for your skin so you can use any product you like”

BUSTED! While all skincare products are designed to bring positive effects to your skin, it is very important to note that knowing your skin type is very important before choosing your skincare products. However, there are organic products that suit all skin types because they are chemical-free, vegan, and safe to use even for those acne-prone skins.

Eminence Organic Skin Care products are one of the best organic and vegan skincare that you can add to your regimen. Invigorate Spa is a proud affiliate of Eminence Organic Skin Care. You may shop items via this link
